Growth, Aglow
Growth. How do you currently define growth? Where do you desire to grow as an individual? Where do you undervalue growth, and conversely, where do you perhaps overvalue growth?
Growth can be applied to all aspects of our lives, and in so many ways, we can be overcome with an occupation of how, and where we can and should grow. I would argue that this is by design for in the inner conflict of our growth, our true path is illuminated. It’s not a coincidence that when our bones stop growing, our minds bud in a million different directions. That said, the beauty in this design is, that unlike the plants of the world, we have the ability to reflect on where our sun sets and where it rises.
In photography, as in life, true beauty is often found when light is allowed to shine in its natural direction. Like a mirror, the contents of a naturally illuminated setting pristinely reflects back the profound beauty that lies in front of our eyes. Stepping back, and allowing the light to shine naturally is an opportunity to see where in the field of contrast, there is harmony. The growth in this is knowing that while light may not always be shining in the direction you would prefer, how you perceive it can open up a whole new world of meaning to a moment.
In light,
